World’s largest offshore wind farm starts producing clean energy
UK’s grand plan to generate at least 20 percent of all its power from wind turbines has seen the development of the world’s largest offshore wind farm. The farm is equipped with about 100 giant wind turbines that are installed off Thanet in Kent.
Construction started a year ago and after spending close to $1.2 billion, the world’s largest offshore wind farm has started generating clean energy. The plant promises to power about 240,000 urban homes, which is equivalent of half the county of Kent.
