Citroen Survolt set for debut at the Le Mans Classic (w/Video)
Citroen will give its electric sports car, the Survolt, its moving debut at the Le Mans Classic this weekend.
Vanina Ickx will drive the supermini-sized rear-drive concept, which first appeared at the Geneva motor show in March.
The Survolt features a tubular chassis and carbon bodywork; it uses two electric motors with a combined power output of 300bhp, with full torque available between 0-5000rpm. Powering the motors is a 31kw lithium-ion batteries that allow for a 124-mile range and can be recharged in two hours.
Citroen claims the Survolt is capable of getting from 0-62mph in less than 5.0sec and reaching a top speed of more than 160mph. Curb weight is no specified.
The firm has previously said it is looking at producing the Survolt in limited numbers for a one-make race series.
